The purpose of this session is to explore how to use differentiation to meet the needs of all learners in a classroom. All students can be taught in the same classroom environment and learn side by side with their peers while receiving instruction, remediation and enrichment that meets their needs. Digital tools such as Padlet, Socrative, Quizzizz, Kahoot, GoFormative and EdPuzzle can be used to create activities that create a student-centered environment where the teacher acts as a facilitator and the students direct their own learning. The TPCK model will be introduced as a way to design lesson plans so the pedagogical practice and content knowledge are just as important as the technology that is used. Examples of how teachers use digital formats to provide a wide variety of resources will be provided. For example, Padlet can be used to create a digital board that has a variety of activities for students to click through based on readiness, interest or learner profile. Using these differentiated digital boards has increased engagement in the classroom and helped raise state test scores.
