Our DigCitIMPACT Journey: A Community Approach to Digital Citizenship

In this session, participants learn how to invite an entire school community to learn alongside students. From making a commitment to digital citizenship to putting it into action, Lake Shore Central School District (LSCSD) became the hub for the outside community to learn alongside students. Using an intergenerational approach to community outreach, students hosted a Digital Citizenship Summit, a Future Ready networking event, and participated in a Cyber Seniors program at a local senior center. The different layers of community outreach was an invitation for the community to learn with students as the school community took the lead as problem-solvers, designers, and global collaborators who are empathetic, entrepreneurial, inclusive, and innovative both on and offline.
