The New Normal: Let’s get Real and Authentic

Where we are as educators today is different from where we were prior to COVID and school closure. I’m referring to the physical set up of school and the planning of instruction. We are in a new normal. But what isn’t different is what we know is critical in any learning environment: connection, sense of community, and attention to work that matters. So what does it mean to be real and learn in authentic ways? This is our chance to create learning experiences that allow our students to see their place in the world and their real worth in the world. During this session, we will explore ways that educators can connect with the heart of their students and design authentic real-world learning experiences that allow students to connect to their community and others. Whether you are currently physically back at the school building, in a blended environment, or completely online you will see how you can use instructional technology to design authentic learning that will inspire students to learn and care in a deeper way.
